This week we will be learning commandments 3-6 and their meaning.

This coming Sunday we will celebrate Confirmation.  The students have worked tirelessly on the service, so please join us and pray with us.  Last Sunday, we made chalices, which they will use during the service.  For some of the students, this Sunday will mark the first time they will receive Holy Communion.

The Church Council had a lengthy meeting this past Sunday to discuss the future of our church and congregation. We are currently negotiating a new lease with St. Aemilian’s Day Care and hope to get that accomplished. We will keep you informed on the progress. However, the costs involved in maintaining and updating a building of our size and age causes a financial burden, even with rent money from St. Aemilian’s and with Pastor Lorrie donating back most of her salary. The Council will continue to watch our budget and financial situation very closely.

We want to stay in our church, but the Church Council feels it is our duty to the congregation to be realistic and to make recommendations based upon what will sustain our faith community now and in the future. To that end, a “visioning” committee has been formed to discuss and review all the options available to us. Just a few of these options might be: find ways to increase our revenues from additional tenants, hold fund raisers, recruit more volunteers to maintain the church, sell our building to another

organization with the ability to rent back the sanctuary, or even sell our building and rent space from another congregation.  All options are on the table at this time.  If you have any thoughts or ideas, please feel free to share them with a Council member.   We will continue to keep you updated as information becomes available to us and, obviously, no final decisions can be made unless they are approved by the entire congregation.  We give thanks for your continued support.

We have reserved their covered picnic area which provides us with 25 picnic tables, modern restrooms, a Caterer’s Room with hot and cold water, sink and counter space, electricity, large grill, wood burning fireplace.
